Lacemaking competition for the Ivanka Ferjančič award

The heart of the Idrija Lace Festival Sunday programme is the national lacemaking competition for the Ivanka Ferjančič Award. The students will enter the competition area in an organised parade leading from the Idrija Lace School through the town centre. Competing are primary-school students who qualified by achieving the highest scores through preliminary school competitions. There are five competition categories: four for lace school students, one for the students who learn lacemaking in elective or afternoon classes. This year, we expect over 160 children. Along with them, adult lacemakers compete in their own category. 

The national competition level for primary-school students is co-financed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Slovenia.
