VISITING HOME: IMAGES OF OUR PEOPLE, PLACES, AND CUSTOMS 70 YEARS AGO

Slovene Ethnographic Museum and Idrija Municipal Museum exhibition
Exhibition opening: June 14th at 6:30 PM

The Slovene Ethnographic Museum is visiting us with photos, drawings, notes, and exhibits collected by the Orel Group of museum curators and drawers during their one month of field research in the Cerkno region in August 1954. 70 years have passed since. Do we still know the local people and their homesteads on the photos? Can we remember the local names for various tools? The exhibition opens many more questions about a time that is no more. Perhaps we will recognise the lacemakers on later photos from field research in Vojsko and Črni Vrh in the summer of 1959, and Idrija and Spodnja Idrija in 1976? Some of their lace may even be stored in our museum collection. Come and dive into the past with us!

Viewing is possible with a ticket.
June 14th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM admission is free.
