**150 Years of the Idrija Lace School

In Slovenia, aspirations for professional education in lacemaking date back to the 18th century. 1876 saw the establishing of the Idrija Lace School that celebrates 150 years of uninterrupted activities this year. Annually, more than 500 children and 150 adults follow its programmes.

The exhibition follows the development of the school through historical periods and the transfer of knowledge to the generations of students. Along the way, you can admire bobbin lace based on the curriculum: from practice pieces to masterpieces, all made by current and former students, teachers, and members of lacemaking associations in the Idrija and Cerkno regions.
