**Danilo Jereb: PATTERN BOBBINS THREAD = LACE

Danilo Jereb, Master of Fine Arts, opens a perspective on the past through symbolically heavy square formats that celebrate the beauty of intricate Idrija lace. By sensitively including the elements of lacemaking heritage, he achieves a special power of expression. Patters, bobbins, and lace become more than a memory: they are sacred objects that he uses in the form of collages or even assemblages. He connects these composition parts with classical means of artistic expression, especially the layers in earthen colours that are rich in character and address the patina of the past. Jereb’s two- and three-dimensional artefacts are modern, original, perfected in art and aesthetics, carry a unique artistic poeticism, and bear testimony to the spirit of time and place.
