“And that’s how you make lace”

Idrija has been home to lacemaking for more than 300 years. Once, lacemakers used to gather outside on the streets and courtyards if the weather allowed it. This was not just the time for lacemaking but also for socialising and, of course, sharing the freshest news: “Have you heard about this?” 

Today, in times of Facebook and other social media, they mostly meet to keep this artistic craft alive and show it to curious visitors.
