In Idrija and the region, lacemaking has a centuries-old tradition, proudly preserved by young and old lacemakers alike. Idrija lace is a symbol of tenderness, whiteness, and precision, yet inspires also contemporary creators who bring colour, freshness, and innovative ideas to it.

The Idrija Lacemaking Association strives to preserve the quality and recognisability of the bobbin lace, continuously perfects the techniques, and is happy to share its know-how. Lacemaking connects us, brings us joy, and enriches us
