National competition in lacemaking for the Ivanka Ferjančič Award

The competition bears the name of the first lacemaking teacher at the Idrija Lace School, the Idrija-born Ivanka Ferjančič (1850–1879). The competitors in children’s disciplines qualified for the national level on the basis of their results in selective school competitions. Adult lacemakers are kindly invited to participate in the competition, showing their skills in making either Idrija narrow tape lace with double stitch or Idrija narrow tape lace with chain (verižica), crescents (rogljički), and tallies (ribice). Prior registration of competitors is mandatory, audience most appreciated.

The best lacemakers will be awarded practical prizes!
