The annual exhibition Together, We Can and We Do 2026 showcases the know-how, the perseverance, and creativity of the Idrija Lace School students, whose works reveal the richness of traditional techniques and the freshness of contemporary approaches to Idrija lace. Through carefully crafted laceworks, the young lacemakers tell stories of patience, precision, imagination, and pride of the heritage that they responsibly carry forward.

As such, the exhibition goes beyond presenting children’s lace and shows continuity, the power of the community, and the importance of persistent work that is keeping tradition alive. Every exhibited lacework is a small, yet valuable proof that heritage is preserved when the young internalize it as a part of their identity and bring it into a new era with their creativity bringing – something that the school is proud to have been doing for the past 150 years.

Keep an eye out for the lace you find the most beautiful! You can vote for it between 19 and 21 June until 2 PM. The student who created the winning lace as well as the voter who will be drawn will receive a prize.
